What makes us different?
Casa Marginetta is primarily our home in Italy.
We go there frequently ourselves. We only
accept rentals to assist with the running
costs, not for profit. We do not use a letting
agent.
This
enables us to offer you, our special guests, genuine
value-for-money. We love a bargain ourselves
and we honestly believe that so do most people!
Apart
from that, we want you to have a fantastic
holiday, not just an average one, so we like to
think that we always go 'the extra mile' to
make things as good as they can be.
We
aim to provide everything you might need to
make your stay enjoyable and some 'Special
Extras' to make it truly unique!
Last,
but not least, we're proud to say that everyone
who has been our guest in the past has said
that they enjoyed themselves. Many have written
in our guest book, recommended us to their
friends and returned again themselves!

Those
Special Extras!
It's
lovely to be away in Tuscany, but then again
it's nice to keep in touch with what's
happening back home. Via our gigantic 1.8 metre
dish, you can even choose your local BBC and
ITV regional programmes, CBeebies, CITV and
much, much more. You won't find that in many
other places!
We
don't just provide one TV and one DVD player, but
two of each!
The
main installation in the lounge is connected to
a Dolby 'surround-sound' home cinema loudspeaker system so
that you can enjoy your favourite movies in a
cinema-like atmosphere.
There's a host of
viewing material provided or you could always
bring along a few of those DVDs that you've
never found time to watch!
The
second system is on a wheeled trolley so that
you can use it anywhere you like. Feeling worn
out after all that sightseeing? Why not watch
the end of the movie in bed?
We
provide a Sony 'Playstation 2' games console with
dozens of popular games, so that you and your
children can entertain yourselves for hours!
Why not bring a few of your own favourites?
Everyone
knows that using your UK mobile abroad can cost
'an
arm and a leg' but what's the alternative? We
offer two solutions.
Firstly,
we provide six free-to-use rechargeable
Motorola digital walkie-talkies. With a range
of up to 3km, you and your group can all stay
in touch whether you're on the slopes or
wandering around Florence!
Secondly,
we provide two Vodafone Italia pay-as-you-go
mobile phones. Free to use for incoming calls,
just top them up from as little as 10 Euros and
calls within Italy or even back to the UK will
cost a fraction of what they would otherwise.
You can also send and receive texts!
Why
not give the numbers to friends or colleagues in
the UK and then it's down to them to pay if
they need to contact you?
Crime
is not really a problem in Convalle - most
locals even still feel able to leave their
doors unlocked!
However,
you may prefer not to leave passports,
valuables etc. lying around. So, for your
convenience we provide a securely mounted hidden digital safe
which you can program with your own unique
access number.
There's
nothing like the smell of freshly baked bread
in the morning. We provide a breadmaker so that
you can treat yourself to this delicious
experience!
Why
not pop a few sun-dried tomatoes into the mix?
Yummy! - you could be in Italy - oh, you are!
There's
no doubt that skiing and snowboarding in
Abetone is a great experience, but how do you
get your skis or boards up there?
Simple!
We provide two
locking magnetic ski and snowboard racks
free
of charge. These are fantastic!
They fit onto
the roof of your rental car without any fuss
and mean that up to five of you could
comfortably hire a cheap, basic Ford Fiesta and
safely carry the skis or boards on the roof.
Between them the two racks hold five pairs of
skis or four snowboards or combinations
in-between.
Want
to wax your board or skis to get the best out
of the snow conditions? No problem, we provide
a 'ski iron'. Just bring your preferred wax
along and away you go!
New
to skiing and want to try it for a day or two?
No problem, although you can easily rent the
newest equipment in-resort, we also offer a few
pairs of skis and boots that might suit you. Of
course you use any equipment at your own risk,
but at least it's free! However, don't forget
to bring suitable clothing!
In
winter months, carrying snow chains in your car
is mandatory on some roads marked with snow
chain symbols, even though the chances of
actually needing them are slight because roads are well gritted and
ploughed.
We
recommend Weissenfels snow chains because of
their quality and ease of fitting.
For
your convenience, we provide a set of group 6 snow chains free
of charge that fit many small rental cars.

Optional
Extras
As
you can see from the above, it is our policy to
offer most facilities at no extra charge.
However, we do offer three optional extras that
are chargeable if
required.
Prices
for extras are based on pre-booking. Requests
for optional extras to be provided once you are
already in residence will be honoured if at all
possible, but are subject to a premium to cover the
cost of a call-out by servicing staff.
Although
Casa Marginetta is fully centrally heated, for
your extra comfort during the winter months and
for a small additional charge of £1 per person
per night, we can optionally provide electric
under-blankets for most beds. After all,
there's nothing quite like the luxury of
slipping into a cosy warm bed!
Although
two portable electric fans on stands are provided free of
charge at the property, you may prefer to enjoy
the additional comfort of an air conditioner in
the master bedroom during the summer months.
This is optionally
available for a small additional charge of £2
per night.
Some former guests have said that it would
be nice to have a few basic provisions
waiting for them on arrival. For this reason we
can make available our 'welcome
pack' for a nominal
charge of just £10 - roughly cost price.
However, there's absolutely no obligation - in
fact, it's actually easier for us if you don't
want one!!
Our welcome pack normally
comprises the following items:

toilet roll per guest
Subject to availability, additional items
